Small Area Estimation of Age-Specific and Total Fertility Rates in Bangladesh

چکیده
Abstract Bangladesh has experienced a rapid national decline in fertility recent decades, however, rates vary considerably at the sub-national level (i.e., division). These variations are expected to be more pronounced lower levels of geography (e.g., district level). However, routinely conducted demographic health surveys designed for estimates and do not have adequate samples produce reliable estimate administrative units, particular when considering age-specific rates. Data extracted from Demographic Health Survey 2014 used derive direct associated smoothed standard errors. as inputs developing small area model, which is expressed hierarchical Bayesian framework fitted by Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation. The model accounts variation different levels—women age-group, division, district. modeling results show large reductions estimated standards errors provide consistent detailed level. There significant differences within between districts division Fertility observed higher Sylhet women aged 20–24 years. We use geo-spatial maps visualize over districts, identify hot cold-spots better targeted local planning policy decision making further Bangladesh.

Mathematical Modeling of Age Specific Marital Fertility Rates of Bangladesh
The purpose of this study is to build up mathematical models to age specific marital fertility rates (ASM FRs) and forward cumulative ASM FRs of Bangladesh. For this, the secondary data of ASMFRs have been taken from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS). It is observed that ASMFRs follows quadratic polynomial model in 1996 and one degree polynomial model i. e. simple linear regressio...
متن کاملA parsimonious characterization of change in global age-specific and total fertility rates
This study aims to understand trends in global fertility from 1950-2010 though the analysis of age-specific fertility rates. This approach incorporates both the overall level, as when the total fertility rate is modeled, and different patterns of age-specific fertility to examine the relationship between changes in age-specific fertility and fertility decline. Singular value decomposition is us...
متن کاملSome New Developments in Small Area Estimation
Small area estimation has received a lot of attention in recent years due to growing demand for reliable small area statistics. Traditional area-specific estimators may not provide adequate precision because sample sizes in small areas are seldom large enough. This makes it necessary to employ indirect estimators based on linking models. Basic area level and unit level models have been extensiv...
متن کاملMultivariate time series projections of parameterized age-specific fertility rates.
1 solution to the dimensionality problem raised by projection of individual age-specific fertility rates is the use of parametric curves to approximate the annual age-specific rates and a multivariate time series model to forecast the curve parameters. Such a method reduces the number of time series to be modeled for women 14-45 years of age from 32 to 40 (the number of curve parameters). In a...

Considering different fertility traits 411 cows from 73 farms used for economic analyses. From these, 202 lactating cows were selected for evaluating the fertility status. Pre-tested data sheets were used to record the socioeconomic status of the farms including their assets, cost and return and productive and reproductive performance of the dairy cows. Targets were set considering the situatio...
